I want something...

But I don't know what it is. I think my brain is still searching around for something to entertain it. I've met all my nutrition goals (and still have 30 carbs left!), I'm full, and with my evening vitamins shortly, I'll have had a very good day nutritionally.

I did not, however, get my skinny iced mocha with whipped cream today.

I think that's what I'm missing.

I have had one every day for probably the last two months, either from Starbucks or made at home. I want my iced coffee. :-(

If it weren't so late, I'd go make myself one.

I'm not suffering. Ridiculous.

Maybe I need to find something else to do in the last hour or so before I go to sleep. I'm going to go look for something to read.

  1. Can you have no sugar added ice cream? It is my sinful treat. One half cup of vanilla bean with a tablespoon of sugar-free Hershey's syrup, only 108 calories. And it is yummy! I believe it is15 carbs.

  2. I wish. I don't count calories, but I do count carbs, and even the SF ice cream has a lot of carbs--just not worth it to me. I did, however, find some low carb, low calorie, SF ice cream at our local Ralph's (I forget the brand. Ugh.), but if I ever get a series ice cream jones? I'm getting a pint of the peanut butter chocolate ($4.95!). But so far I just haven't really jones'd for ice cream. I do love me a SF mocha iced coffee with half & half, though. :D

  3. PS: I try to keep my carbs under 50. Sometimes it's hard to do, and 15 carbs would be almost 1/2 a day of carbs and that 15 carbs is probably for 1/2 a cup. Boo!

  4. You're right, it is for a half-cup. I'm a little more generous with myself on carbs now but I am not a DS patient (used to be a serious carb watcher, but now I'm more into "all things in moderation"). You are doing a great job; you look terrific, much younger, too! Keep up the good work!

    1. Thanks, SG. If I really want some ice cream, I'll have it, but the SF iced coffees with half and half/HWC and whipped cream on top make me feel spoiled and taste good enough to keep this (former?) fat girl happy. Even the ones made at home (8 oz of coffee, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, half and half to taste, yummmm-y!). I don't have whipped cream on had at home, yet..., but I plan to get to the store this weekend.

I feel like I look wrinkly--chicken wottle under my chin LOL--but everyone says I look "healthy", so that's good enough for me!

I'm going to stay under 50 carbs a day until I either hit my goal weight or the DS says I'm done--these first two years are critical to forcing my body and mind into shape and losing as much as I can. Then the weight loss window may close. Plus? So many things give me either diarrhea or constipation, that I am very choosy about what I put in my body based on what it will do to my body. LOL That's the beauty of this surgery: it really forces you to think about your choices and then (makes it) easier to comply. :D

      Cheers!

    2. Hi, SSG here (logged into a different one of my 800 google accounts that I can't keep straight). I am so impressed with how well you are doing, and how seriously you are taking this. I recently watched a weight-loss program where a woman had her stomach "sleeved," and it was so sad, because she did NOTHING they told her. In fact, she GAINED weight. It's like she thought the surgery would be a magical cure. At the end of the program I found myself so disgusted with her, because she was such a victim, crying about why it didn't work for her. Duh, because you didn't follow one single rule! Fried wontons ("I won't live without fried wontons.")? Cake? Ice cream? So congrats to for owning your own recovery. I know how hard it is (chronic dieter). It is awesome and I know you will see it though!

  5. Well shit. I should've thought of that. I bought a cheap battery for my prior laptop on Amazon. Sucks to be me. :-P

as for WLS...sometimes it does feel magical, then I mop up the blood from my still open (about 1 inch) belly wound (which needs fresh Kotex' several times a day), the diarrhea, constipation, etc. Not magical. Just science. I'm so grateful to live in these times. And lucky.
